My First Time Black Friday Shopping!

If you couldn't tell by all of the craziness out and about today, today was Black Friday! I had never been Black Friday shopping before last night. My parents would usually go and I would stay home, because I didn't want to be in the craziness and be with crowds (I HATE crowds). But, for the first time ever, I went shopping at midnight and participated in Black Friday!
I went with my lovely Mom out to Ulta for some gifts. We still had to pick up one more gift for my cousin and aunt... AND my Christmas gifts. This year my Mom had no clue what to get me. She told me that it's getting super hard since I'm getting older. I would email her lists of things to possibly order me, but when we saw the ad for Ulta, we knew we were going Black Friday shopping. It was the easiest way for me to tell her what I wanted, without her guessing and me being let down by what I got.
We left our house at 11, and I know that leaving an hour before a Black Friday event is not the best thing to do, but it's not like we were going for big ticket items like TVs or computers at Best Buy. We have two Ulta's by where we live, so us being smart, we chose to go to the Ulta by the mall. The drive there wasn't bad and we got to Ulta at 11:20 (we hit many of the lights). The line wasn't bad, whatsoever. We sat in the car because it was cold out until 11:30, when the line started to fill up a little more. As we waited for the midnight opening, those who were waiting for Best Buy (our Ulta by the mall and the Best Buy are in the same plaza) were getting confused on which line was what. If you know me personally and know where I live, you know that that is a LONG line. The line was over six stores long!
Finally, it was midnight. My Mom and I got into the store quickly because we were in the first 20 people in line. She headed to grab a bag for our items, while I went and grabbed the last makeup kit that was on sale for $16.99.  I grabbed the pink one that had a zebra design and that is for my cousin, not me. We then pushed our way through the chaos to the other side of the store for the other doorbusters that weren't kits. I can't tell you what we purchased right now, because those items are part of my Christmas gifts. What I can tell you is that it involved Stila, Tarte, Urban Decay and Bare Minerals.
After getting the doorbusters, I had to find my way to the brushes and show my Mom which ones I wanted. It was crazy, because the Ulta we went to is new and opened within the past 3 months and is not the normal one we go to. The layouts are completely different, and the one we normally go to doesn't have a Benefit Brow Bar and has the Ulta makeup as soon as you walk in.
After finding what we wanted, we were in line to check out 10 minutes after the store opened. Yes, 10 minutes after! We were in line for about five or so minutes and then we checked out. We were out of Ulta by 12:20. Want to know the grand total? My Mom spent over $120 on Christmas presents! I know it is a lot to spend, but if you think about it, it's not. You're practically getting things 75% off in certain cases and get things in kits for little to no money!
We went to a local store after, but didn't have what my Mom was looking for. No, it wasn't doorbusters. We avoided the mall and Kohls because of the chaos in the parking lots alone and headed home at 1. We got home by 1:30 exhausted and ready to sleep. Luckily, I went to sleep with a huge smile on my face. I had a great time and got to spend it with my best friend, my Mom.
I know this was about Black Friday, but you can't get to Black Friday without having Thanksgiving. I hope you all told the people you love that you were thankful for them and had an amazing day! I'm thankful for my parents, dogs and my entire family. If it wasn't for them, I don't know where I would truly be. I've had a lot to deal with the past three years, heck, even my whole life, and they've been there for me. So for that, I thank you guys. I love you all and couldn't do it without you guys.

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and safe Black Friday!
xx, Christa
